Proper Aftercare is Essential

HELPING YOUR TATTOO OR PIERCING HEAL PROPERLY

Tattoo Aftercare

First 24-48 Hours

  • Keep the bandage on for 2-4 hours after getting your tattoo
  • Gently wash the tattoo with warm water and mild, fragrance-free soap
  • Pat dry with a clean paper towel (do not rub)
  • Apply a thin layer of recommended aftercare ointment
  • Avoid touching the tattoo with dirty hands

First Week

  • Wash the tattoo 2-3 times daily with mild soap
  • Apply a thin layer of aftercare ointment after each wash
  • Keep the tattoo clean and dry
  • Avoid soaking in water (no swimming, hot tubs, or long baths)
  • Wear loose, breathable clothing over the tattoo

Healing Process (2-4 Weeks)

  • The tattoo will start to scab and peel - this is normal
  • Do not pick or scratch the scabs
  • Continue to keep the area clean and moisturized
  • Avoid direct sunlight and tanning beds
  • Once fully healed, always use sunscreen on your tattoo

  • Submerging in water (pools, hot tubs, baths)
  • Direct sunlight and tanning
  • Tight clothing that rubs against the tattoo
  • Using harsh soaps or products with fragrances

Piercing Aftercare

Cleaning Routine

  • Clean the piercing 2-3 times daily with saline solution
  • Use a clean cotton swab or pad
  • Gently rotate the jewelry while cleaning
  • Rinse with clean water and pat dry

During Healing

  • Avoid touching the piercing with dirty hands
  • Do not remove the jewelry during healing
  • Avoid swimming and submerging in water
  • Keep hair products and makeup away from the piercing
  • Sleep on clean bedding and avoid sleeping on the piercing

Healing Times

  • Ear lobe: 6-8 weeks
  • Ear cartilage: 3-6 months
  • Nose: 2-4 months
  • Lip: 2-3 months
  • Body piercings: 3-6 months (varies by location)
